About Us

The practice draws from self-developed concepts inspired by human relationships, social communication and personal memory, translating these ideas into abstract objects and visual systems. It is also informed by the richness of Anatolian, Seljuk and Oghuz cultural heritage, approaching historical and cultural material not as decoration, but as a living archive that can be reinterpreted through abstraction.

Prism Archive Studio is a contemporary art studio founded in London, exploring abstraction as a space of shifting perception, material transformation and open interpretation.

At the centre of the studio is the idea of the prism: a form, a lens and a way of seeing. Through this perspective, a single object can hold multiple readings. What appears fixed from one angle may become fragmented, softened, distorted or redefined from another.

The studio creates abstract sculptural objects and visual works that often emerge from the meeting of smaller parts. Two-dimensional fragments, surfaces and planes come together to form three-dimensional objects, reflecting a wider interest in how separate elements can gather, transform and become whole.

Prism Archive Studio is also shaped by an interest in imperfection. Irregular surfaces, visible traces, material marks and signs of process are not hidden; they are part of the work. The studio approaches imperfection as a form of presence, allowing each object to carry evidence of making, contact, time and transformation.

Artist

Prism Archive Studio is the artistic practice of Aykut Adala, an artist based in London. His work is shaped by a long-standing engagement with material, form and creative production.

For the past six years, he has been developing a multidisciplinary practice in the UK, creating works that move between object-making, surface research and abstract visual language. His practice is driven by a close relationship with materials: testing, marking, transforming and allowing them to reveal their own traces.

Working through personal experience, cultural memory and material experimentation, he creates abstract works that explore how objects can hold memory, tension, imperfection and multiple ways of seeing.
